Tuesdays are official weigh in days- why Tuesday though? Jan 1st was on a Tuesday and I want the weeks to line up so it’s also the day that I do a weight loss update. Now that I’ve been doing Sharketo over a year- I don’t need to update as much- day to day basically stays about the same so there isn’t much to say at this point- I’m just letting my actions do the speaking.
I did want to discuss my starting weight for 2019 compared to today’s weight because nothing is going to match up to most folks.
At the end of 2018, I was really pushing myself to get under 300 lbs and the stress got to me and was making my life miserable- I don’t want to focus my entire life on a specific number- so I decided to “end 2018 early” and use my weight on Friday, December 28th as my ending/starting weight crossing over from 2018 to 2019- I then took the next 4 days off to enjoy discount Christmas candy and New Years and started fresh on Tuesday, January 1st, 2019.
The problem is- during that 4 day binge, I gained some weight and a ton of “water weight” and it wouldn’t be fair to count that as an official “weight gain”- the same as taking what I lost this week as “weight loss” wouldn’t really be fair or tell the true story.
On 01.01.2019 I was actually back up to 321.4 lbs but that isn’t humanly possible- it was mostly water weight. Over this last week, I’ve lost 10.2 lbs but that isn’t reality either because that isn’t actual weight.
I’m not going to brag about dropping 10 lbs in a week because I know it’s BS- this is why my stating weight is listed at 305.2 lbs because that is where I ended 2018 and that needs to be where I start 2019 to keep the timeline in order. On Feb 1st I’ll have my current, actual weight and the amount of weight lost/gained during January will be counted based on 305.2 lbs and not the up and down of water weight from some cheat days. To do it any other way wouldn’t be fair to me or fair to anyone seeing this.
I’m hoping to be back to where I was by next Tuesday and then have about 2 weeks to actually work on losing weight for January.
Just because I’m letting my weight even out doesn’t mean the first week wasn’t a huge success! I made it through the first weekend without cheating- which has been a HUGE problem over the last 6 months. On top of that, my clothes are fitting better and I haven’t missed a single workout- even went back to working out twice a day- once at 5:30am and again at 4:00pm.
My wife and I also did our first “In The Kitchen with Sharky and Jackie” and made an amazing Sharketo Peanut Butter pie which was great and only 6g Net Carbs per piece!
I’m really focusing on eating better, trying to get the 23/1 IF/eating back into routine and no cheat days until after I ride my first roller coaster on July 20rh.
