Why do Wal-Mart, Target and other stores put the oldest and/or dumbest people in electronics?
Over the weekend, I helped two different customers with gaming questions and…honestly…it made me feel amazing! I wish I could find a job that pays what I make now- that was just telling people about video games and cool shit.
The first guy was in Target and he was asking the guy about which system he could get for his kid- Xbox or Playstation.
The guy working there was an idiot and telling him about all these games on Playstation without asking him about his kid or their situation because that is a huge factor in which system to get.
The customer was asking about games because they didn’t have a lot to spend and he was looking at a couple of games that would be $120- Gears of War 5 and Outer Worlds. I explained to him that BOTH of those games were on GamePass (from day ONE) and that he could get an entire year of GamePass for that price and his son could not only play those but a ton of other revolving games. He was super happy and picked up a Xbox S. He was then asking the difference between the regular and digital only and I was telling him that if he got the disc version, he could pick up some really good games for cheap at GameStop or even yard sales.
The next customer was at Wal-Mart…I believe he was a grandparent and he had his little list of which games his grandson wanted. I was looking at the Nintendo Switch games and I saw him struggling. He had a bad leg so it was hard for him to bend down to look at them and he was trying to figure out what he was looking for- I helped him find both Super Mario Maker 2 and Mario Kart 8 within minutes and then he asked me the difference in Mario Kart 8 Deluxe and if they had just basic Mario Kart 8. I explained to him the difference and that one was releases for Wii U and then they added tons of stuff when the re-releases it for the Switch.
He shook my hand and said “this guy knows his stuff…thank you so much…I couldn’t get anyone to help us.”
If I ever win the lottery, I’m quitting my job and just hanging around the electronics sections of department stores just to help people with their gaming/electronic questions….that would be truly living my best life.
Love, Peace and Sharkyness
