If you currently have (or ever have had) a 2 year old, then you will know the difficulty in getting them to eat. Can a child survive on chicken nuggets alone?

I think 90% of Evan’s dies is “chick-chicks” and there isn’t really anything we can do about it. We try to give him different foods but he just won’t go for it.

He has spurts where he will eat Mac and Cheese or Chili or something but they usually only last a few days and they are weeks, if not months, between each other…it’s almost always chicken nuggets…(from Wendy’s mostly!).

We have gone as far as stuffing food in his mouth, which I know we aren’t suppose to do, but what else can you do?

Seriously; he would go DAYS without eating if we didn’t get him chicken nuggets. Last night, we had spaghetti but my wife fixed the curly noodles in hope that he would eat them.

NOTHING. We stuff a few of them in and made him eat them but that was it. He was a chubby baby but now it seems as though he is growing out of the chubbiness and we are worried about him getting enough nutrition.

We have asked several doctors about the situation but they all say the same thing…”he’ll eat when he’s hungry”.

That doesn’t make you feel any better when you think you are putting your child to bed hungry; but you can’t force him to eat.

The only comfort I have is looking at it like this –

His body doesn’t understand the concept of eating for pleasure yet, he eats when he is hungry and needs energy and since he ate almost nothing yesterday, yet did laps around the living room last night while yelling and trying to sing the alphabet…how much more energy does he need?

I guess his body is eating enough to fuel itself and he isn’t eating constantly like his parents; we ate far more than our bodies need, which is why we are overweight.

Who knows?

Time Warner Cable….. how do I hate thee? Let me count the ways. I hate thee enough that I’m ready to switch to satellite TV.

I have had nothing but trouble from them. First they overcharged me for 13 months. At my old place, they charged me for my cable box and for my modem rental, no biggie, they were small amounts and it was better than buying a cable modem. So at my new place, I have charges for 3 digital outlets, which I assumed was my two cable boxes and my modem, again, no biggie, since I use all of those frequently. One day I called Time Warner because I was interested in getting a better package deal. During this conversation, the representative mentions that I have three cable boxes, and I said no, two cable boxes and a modem. She tells me that they no longer charge modem rental, that’s included in the internet price, and that I’m being charged for three cable boxes, which turns out to be that when one of mine broke and they came out and replaced it, they never took that one off, they just started charging me for a new one too. I guess they think I needed three boxes for two TVs. Sounds logical…. at least in the la-la land of Time Warner. The rep said that it would be no trouble, I just had to contact the local office and they would issue me a credit for those 13 months. Sweet. So I called the local office, explained to them the problem and they said they would issue me 3 months credit. So…. what about the other 10 months? Oh no, it was my responsibility to catch it, so they get to keep the money. I said “But I did catch it now, and I want a credit.” Nope, company policy, they only refund for things happening in the past 90 days. Well, bitch, it’s my policy to only pay for what I actually get. They apparently didn’t like my policy. So I contacted the Better Business Bureau. My credit (over $100) was on my next bill. The BBB is my new best friend.

Then this past weekend, I actually had a few minutes to myself. The house was clean, Carter was asleep, nothing to do, so I sit down, kick back to watch some TVG, and….. TVG isn’t there. I scroll all through the channels to see if it’s moved. Nope. Gone. So I call Time Warner once again. “We haven’t dropped any channels lately…. and uh, well we’ve got the Game Show Network. Are you sure it was there?” Yes, I watched it last week, it was there, and GSN is NOTHING like TVG. TVG= horse racing. So I tell the nice, but not so bright man that if TVG is gone, then I no longer want the upper-tier channels. He tells me that if I drop the digital package, then it will currently be MORE than my current bill. Yes, it will cost me MORE to have channels 2-75 than it will to have channels 2-200. So I just assume this guy is a dumbass and I’ll call again Monday.

Monday…. I call. “Hey did you guys drop TVG?” “What? What channel was that? No, we haven’t dropped any channels lately.” Yes, you have. It’s not there. I watched it last weekend, now it’s gone. “Well I don’t see that we ever had that one, ma’am.” Again… I WATCHED IT LAST WEEKEND!!!!! Okay, fine, you’ve dropped it, how much would my cable bill be if I dropped the digital package? More than I’m currently paying? Yes, again, the lovely people tell me that it’s MORE to have 2-75 than it is to have 2-200. Explain this one to me, kind sir. “Well it costs more to broadcast in analog?” Well isn’t that what this big fuss is about? The government’s issuing checks so everyone can get in on digital? “Well we take care of that for you here…” Um, no…. you’re not broadcasting in analog anymore, FCC requires all broadcasts to be digital as of sometime in February. “Well we haven’t changed our packages….” Yeah, you’ve changed something, TVG is gone. So I tell the dumbass, er, customer representative that once I can get Dish network to get out here to install, then I’ll be calling back to cancel. *silence* *crickets* “Uh, well, okay ma’am.”

Well I don’t know how they do things at Time Warner, but 99% of customer representatives get in deep doo-doo if they just let a customer up and cancel without at least TRYING to keep them. Of course, Time Warner’s customer service center is apparently run out of the National Institute for the Terminally Stupid. With satellite becoming more popular and more affordable, cable companies aren’t the only options anymore. Time Warner should remember this, and instead of wasting my time, they could at least PRETEND to care about any concerns and not act as if my call is interrupting their Play-Doh time.

I did drop them an email asking exactly what happened to TVG. If they ever get done with their coloring books, I may get a response. Not holding my breath.

“The subjects were already in a retreat position from the assault,” said Middleton. “At that particular juncture, the threat was over. We’re not exactly sure what (Profitt) was trying to do.” Police responded to the scene after a call was placed to dispatch, and Profitt was disarmed of his weapons. Middleton said based on investigation and statements from witnesses, the two men were charged.
Profitt was taken to the hospital after complaining of a leg injury from being hit with the crowbar.
Snow and Profitt have been released from jail after posting $5,000 surety bonds.

Let’s be honest here…this is NONE of my business; however, I grew up in Junction City; right around Danville, Stanford and all those other little towns and I know (100%) how this went down because I see it daily; hell, I face it daily.

First, just looking at this mug shot of Harold Snow, you can tell he is a young punk-hoodlum that is never going to amount to anything; they are all over these small towns and I deal with them all the time.

Why didn’t Harold Snow and his car load of buddies simply park and walk to the “Red Box” to get their $1.00 movie?

Nope. These badasses decided to block the drive thru, be in everyone else’s way so they could browse the online catalog and get that R rated movie that mommy and daddy wont let them see.

Another example of thugs living on the edge….dangerous….being hardcore (bunch of dumbasses)

I do agree that the mug shot of Ronald Profitt isn’t better; however, Mr. Profitt was in the RIGHT here….actually, he should get a Medal of Honor for his actions; it’s time American’s take control of our country.

I’m tired of putting up with these hoodlums and it’s time someone showed them something about respect. When you read the article, Mr. Profitt made them get back in the car and then shot one of their tires out and then hung around until the po-po showed up.

This shows a couple of things…

1. He was trying to get the hoodlums to stay put and not drive away, probably ending up running from the cops, wrecking and killing themselves or someone else.
2. Mr. Profitt didn’t shoot and run, he waited for the cops.

The people that should be fined, punished or even locked up is the “so-called” parents of Harold Snow, this punk obviously has never been taught how to handle himself in public. Let’s not forget that the incident was over and the car full of idiots pulled up to restart it and then got out and attacked Mr. Profitt with a crowbar.

The cops should have beat Harry to within an inch of his life if you ask me. Is that over reacting? Nope, it may just be what the boy needs to save his life. He is extremely lucky that Mr. Profitt wasn’t someone with nothing to lose and aimed for his head instead of his tire.

This is just another example of smartasses thinking the world revolves around them and screw everyone else; another example comes to us from Harrodsburg.

My wife and I were shopping and these two people were talking; now, instead of moving their carts out of the way; they literally stop in the MIDDLE OF THE ISLE and had the FUCKING nerve to roll their eyes and blow at me when I moved one of the carts out of the way.

Are you serious? This world is full of these types of assholes and they come in every size, shape and color and it’s time someone stands up and does something about it.

I, like most other Americans, am happy to welcome our new President – Barack Obama.

I watched the Inauguration and his speech was simply amazing; he has great ideas and you can literally see the world changing…some of the news articles I saw today talked about North Korea being ok with ending their nuclear weapons program if President Obama is willing to work with them; Israel pulled their troops out of Gaza…these are HUGE changes from just a week ago.

We all know that President Obama can NOT fix everything over night, he will need to make tuff decisions and many of his decisions will turn some of us against him; you can’t make everyone happy all of the time.

The only problem I have had with this entire election process is the talk of President Obama being our first “black” president…or first African American president.

Let’s get a few facts straight –

1. Barack Obama was born in Hawaii
2. Barack Obama’s Mama is WHITE.

Those are the only facts that you need to end the talk of our first black or African American president.

Barack Obama is mixed race and an American.

Just because my ancestors came from England, I don’t call myself English-American…I am simply American; and this is what Barack Obama is; he was NOT born in Africa.

We are making huge steps towards ending racism but we have to be honest and stop calling this man our first black president.

With all of this going on around the world (and because of a talk with my GREAT friend, Toni); I have decided to stop using any racial slur.

Toni is a black female from Texas and she has always been cool with me saying the “N word” but we started talking and I realized that she doesn’t say the “N word” but she said that she has said REDNECK…and she didn’t understand how that was a double standard.

I don’t have a double standard; I talk about all raciest equally but Toni brought it to my attention that I’m trying to “change the world through the eyes of others”, shouldn’t I stop using any racial slurs…and I have to agree, she was right! (She still has a double standard though).

I’m not saying that I will stop saying certain words because I have always said them but I am going to me a conscience effort to cut back drastically.

I have never been a racist as far as wanting anyone hurt or killed because of their race but I grew up around 90% black folks and never had an issue with saying any words. I still believe in freedom of speech and you should be allowed to say anything you want; however, for me…I think I’m going to stop using any negative word towards a certain race of people.

One of the things that brought this decision is my SHARKY CLAUS drive; how could it be right to donate toys that will go to children of all races and then turn around and use a negative word to describe them.

I still believe in MY heritage and will remain proud to be from the South…regardless of the negative actions in the past. My ancestors fought and died for what they believed in, and right or wrong, that can’t be forgotten.

I have a rebel flag tattoo and you can look at it as a symbol of hate or heritage; I look at it as a part of my heritage. Just because I was born in the south, I don’t call myself a Southern American…

Why can’t simply being American be enough?
