Sharksage Flat Balls
We only eat breakfast on the weekends and this weekend, we wanted something a little different and we were low on Carbquik so we found this kick ass recipe on Keto Connect. We had seen several recipes before using “fathead” dough as a type of “hot pocket” and these wee amazing! They turned out far better than I thought and we should be able to use this simple recipe to make everything from these to pizza pockets to burgers!
This is a game changer.
We have our recipe for Hammerhead Pizza Dough in our recipe sections- this leaves out the garlic but I plan to make this WITH the garlic for those pizza pockets.
1.5 cups mozzarella cheese
1 oz cream cheese
¾ cup almond flour
1 large egg
1 lb breakfast sausage
Preheat the oven at 400 degrees F and use parchment paper.
Cook the sausage like you normally would.
Add the mozzarella cheese and cream cheese in a bowl and microwave for 30 seconds. Combine using a fork until mixed.
Add the almond flour and egg and combine as well as possible. If you are having issues, microwave for another 20 minutes so the cheese can melt some more.
Portion the dough out into 8 even balls. (Keto Connection says 6 but that would make them HUGE!)
Flatten the balls out until they are big enough to lay the cooked piece of sausage in the middle and fold the dough over the top of the sausage.
Bake for 10-15 minutes, until the tops start turning brown.
These little things are AMAZING but loaded with calories and fat – they are great if you are doing IF or one meal a day but I wouldn’t suggest eating too many if you aren’t doing IF…your MACROS can get out of hand quick.
