Week 1
First week is in the books and I’ve learned that I need to do a success/failure type thing each week- I can’t look at the entire week as just one or the other because every single week contains both, but one usually outweighs the other for the week.
Let’s start with the failures because they were pretty big and literally affect the entire 75 weeks- I miscalculated my starting weight.
How is that possible right- you step on a scale and BOOM.
Well, for most of 2023 and 2024, when I stepped on the scale, it was always around 420- give or take a few ounces. I have no clue how it was possible but I guess I was just doing enough and eating enough to maintain such a large weight…so when I set up my goals for the next 75 weeks, I went with 420.
When I actually stepped on the scale it was 423 lbs….so I had to adjust my numbers and up my 2.4 lbs lost per week to 2.5 lbs per week.
I also didn’t do as great with the food as I hoped, I started off strong and it got worse as the week went on- which usually happens, but I did NOT go wild.
Which brings me to my success.
I didn’t go wild and buy a ton of sugary foods- I bought something here and there- no nightly binges- and for me- that’s a massive success.
I also dropped 2 lbs which put me down to 421 lbs- exactly .5 lbs from my weekly goal but I haven’t started working out yet- that starts this week.
Normally, I’ve tried to just “wake up” a new person and make all of these changes overnight and that just isn’t possible so I’m trying to make small changes each week, I mean, after all I have 75 weeks to get this done.
This week was mostly just focused on NOT going out every night and buying $25 (or more) of junk food and eating it all- and I did that.
This week I need to work on not getting as many “one item here and there” and get back to a little working out- probably about 15 mins a day. I know that sounds pathetic but I’m 46 years old and weight over 400 lbs and haven’t done much exercise in the last few years so 15 mins may kill me. Start slow and work your way up- that’s how I’m doing it. 15 mins this week, 30 mins next week and so on until I build up to the workout routine I have set up.
Another success this week was my protein coffee- I have spent years trying to figure out a coffee that I liked, was low in sugar and that I could make at home- it ended up being pretty damn simple.
Some Café Bustelo espresso and Premier Protein Café flavor- almost equal parts- that’s it.
Overall- week 1 was a success.
Love, Peace and Sharkyness
