Library Showcase

For the month of September, my DIY book nooks, buildings, etc. will be on display at the Anderson Public Library.
There are two more that need to be added but they will be there on Tuesday and that will be all of the one’s I’ve completed to date.
I wasn’t really sure about doing this when I was asked- there is no need to showcase a talent that isn’t really a talent- it’s just a hobby- anyone can do it.
However, I changed my mind after listening to a library conference thing with my wife (who is a librarian).
The guy was talking about how their library uses their glass cases to showcase different hobbies that folks may be interested in- hobbies that they may not think about or to “get the word out” about things out there.
That changed my mind.
it’s not a showcase for me- it’s a showcase for the hobby.
Call it “book nooking”, miniatures or whatever you want- it really has changed my life for the better…it’s taken over my life and I couldn’t be happier.
I wish I had found it earlier and when you look at it that way, I’m very HAPPY to share it with others- I highly recommend everyone to at least try to make one- you may surprise yourself, which is what happened with me.
It opened up an entire side of me that I didn’t know existed and it’s grown into me trying a few other crafts- some I enjoyed and some I didn’t.
It’s peaceful and calming. It allows you to be creative and customize things here and there, it gives you ideas for other types of crafts.
I really do love it.
You don’t have to have a “talent” to do something, you just have to enjoy it.
Stop by the library and see them in person, they really are cool to see and it may open up a new world for you to explore.
I had been interested in them but didn’t buy one until I went to Jungle Jim’s in Cincinnati and show them in person- they had already built samples.
I promise you, you can do them. Feel free to message me for tips about putting them together, customizing them, buying them or anything else.
Love, Peace and Sharkyness
